Looking back at 2021 I‘ve managed to read a rich variety of books, from parenting how-tos to critical thinking essentials, and even identifying different algorithms that help us improve our lives. Reading different genres was never a problem for me, which is noticeable in the list below 😊 Here are my recomendations.

📚 Factfulness: Ten Reasons We’re Wrong About the World — and Why Things Are Better Than You Think.

If you are more interested in being right than in continuing to live in your bubble. If you are willing to change your worldview. If you are ready for critical thinking to replace instinctive reaction, and if you are
feeling humble, curious, and ready to be amazed — then please read it.

“If you really want to change the world you have to understand it. Following your blame instinct isn’t going to help.”

Informative and grounding, this book will help you gain a better understanding of the world we live in and cope with all negativity out there. It's a must-read in my honest opinion. It will teach you how to recognize overdramatic stories and give you some thinking tools to control your
dramatic instincts.

📚 Algorithms to live by

Exceptional book, that is backed by mathematical modeling and theories — like “Optimal stopping” problem, Human Algorithm Design, Win-stay lose-shift algorithm, Gitting index, the Two generals problem and etc.

“The theory of optimal stopping is concerned with the problem of choosing a time to take a given action”

📚 The Bitcoin Standard

If you are interested in the history of wealth creation, understanding the world's monetary system, and the next generation of digital money, this is your book.

“Any person who owns Bitcoin achieves a degree of economic freedom which was not possible before its invention”

📚 Chamkoria by Milen Ruskov

Chamkoria is a worthy read. It’s a bit lengthy at places, but I found it thought-provoking and greatly educational, as it was a visual and emotional plunge into that era of Bulgarian history. I highly recommend it not only to those who wish to know more about the 20s in Bulgaria but to everyone who wonders why Bulgarians are the way they are — both with their charms and follies.

“More people have ruined their lives out of fear of success than by failure itself”

📚 THE ART OF BEING A PARENT - Dr. Fitzhugh Dodson

In order to raise a child, many qualities are required. As well as the usual requirements such as love, patience, and understanding, a sense of humor is an important feature of any parent’s personality. In fact, it is quite an art to transform a child’s bad mood into behavior everyone in the family can live with.

It's an old book, but I found quality in it, that will be applied for sure in our day-to-day life

📚 The Common Sense Book of Baby and Child Care by Benjamin Spock

Old but gold, and .. you will be amazed how much value could be found in such a book. This applies not only to child care principles but also to the parent-child relationships that can help you to understand your child in a more effective and positive way.

Thank you for the time you spent reading this post! I am looking forward to the one book you would recommend to start 2022 with? :)
